Generally, computer forensics applies to the extraction, identification, preservation, and documentation of information from computers and networks. This includes the recovery of lost information as well as the collection of information related to inappropriate or criminal behavior. BTS offers the following computer forensics services:

  • Analysis of hard drives for hidden or unauthorized data
  • Analysis of computers and networks for unauthorized activity
  • Analysis of computer and network events and incidents
  • Cleaning of hard drives with sensitive information to esure data cannot be recovered
  • Penetration testing of networks
  • Recovery of lost data due to system or computer failure
  • Recovery of lost images due to system or computer failure
  • Tracking and analysis of hacker incidents
  • Security evaluations of computers and networks

BTS accomplishes these tasks through the use of multiple software tools, direct programming and investigative techniques. In the case that situations would involve inappropriate or criminal activity, BTS maintains a proper chain of custody to ensure all evidence is admissible in court. BTS maintains a full-service forensics lab at our Redondo Beach location as well as mobile equipment for on-site investigations and recovery.
